Director of HR

Salary Range: $115,000.00 To $130,000.00 Annually Position Summary The Director of HR will serve as the head of the human resources department and as a key business partner and peer to the management team in leading and creating initiatives, systems, and best practices to recruit, develop, and train a diverse and high-performing workforce. In addition to directing staff of the HR department, the HR Director will help lead and develop a plan for staffing and talent strategy, internal communication processes, performance management, and leadership and professional development. Responsibilities Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction; establishing human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives. Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, AA/EEO compliance, and labor relations. Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff job contributions; maintaining compensation; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; implementing change. Develops human resources operations financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; aligning monetary resources; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances. Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities; communicating and coordinating requirements; expediting fulfillment; evaluating milestone accomplishments; evaluating optional courses of action; changing assumptions and direction. Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions by analyzing information and applications. Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Skill Required Juris Master or Master of Legal Studies degree in Human Resources or in a related field required, with a minimum of 7 years progressive HR experience. PHR certification desired. Deep knowledge of Federal and State Labor Laws. Possesses broad knowledge of HR functional areas and has depth of knowledge in employee relations subject matter. An understanding of corporate culture and how to drive initiatives and promote change within the business. Demonstrates ability to operate effectively in an independent manner with good judgment and a solid understanding of both strategic and tactical business needs. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills with the ability to shepherd diverse stakeholders to achieve complex business objectives. Self-Starter who is action oriented and possesses a strong sense of urgency. Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment. Ability to analyze problems and effectively provide solutions. Skilled at utilizing Microsoft Office Suite. HRIS and payroll experience.
