Travel Consultant

Position Overview Travel Consultant – Discovering the World, One Member at a Time! A passion for travel, strong sales drive, organizational skills, adeptness with computers, and excellent communication are essential. Successful consultants build long‑standing relationships, cross‑sell relevant products, and continually develop expertise. Responsibilities Sells international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel. Shares travel knowledge and expertise from personal experiences and/or educational study trips. Develops long‑standing relationships with members and builds referral and repeat business. Makes appropriate recommendations to ensure the trip experience meets or exceeds member expectations. Cross‑sells relevant products such as AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and Identify Theft Protection to enhance the trip experience. Qualifications & Requirements A high school diploma is required; a 2‑ or 4‑year college degree preferred. Pass comprehensive criminal background check and thorough urine drug screening. Minimum of two years of sales experience in a performance‑driven environment, measured by sales productivity. Available to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement. Will complete the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which includes travel for training. Strong sales orientation and goal‑driven mindset. Computer savvy, able to navigate multiple systems, web browsers, Microsoft Office, with typing speed of at least 30 WPM. Comfortable and organized with paperwork. Compensation & Benefits Travel Consultants start at $23.50/hour with structured, hands‑on training. As they progress and meet sales goals, earnings increase; typical base pay plus incentives range from $55,000‑$65,000 annually, with top performers exceeding $85,000+ in an uncapped commission structure.
