Facilities Specialist - Furniture Move Team (In Ofc 5 Days/Wk)

Job Summary The Facilities Specialist – Furniture Move Team is responsible for supporting warehouse operations, transporting and installing materials/furniture, and providing an efficient response to employee and leadership facilities‑related requests. The position is 5 days a week in the office and will be based at the Facilities Warehouse, 755 Jefferson Street, Atlanta, GA. Work may be required outside normal business hours or on weekends based on demand. Job Requirements 1–5 years of warehouse experience, light carpentry, and installation of office & systems furniture preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred Forklift operation‑certified preferred; product‑specific installation certifications a plus Light carpentry/mechanical experience Ability to drive box truck or light delivery vehicles Experience working in a fast‑paced, safety‑sensitive environment Organized and customer‑focused Major Job Responsibilities Understand and follow all safety protocols for working in the warehouse and other Southern Company locations Inventory management: maintain efficient receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, operational, and personnel policies and procedures Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols Monitor inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage systems Pick up, deliver, and install materials/furniture for remodeling and miscellaneous jobs at various Southern Company locations Perform quality reviews of work performed by team and contractors prior to project completion Ensure efficient transportation of material/furniture to minimize travel time Perform assembly/disassembly and minor repairs of system furniture Train supplemental staff when required Support facility management with employee moves; other duties and overtime as assigned Required Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience and a valid driver’s license for the class of vehicle to be operated No revocation of driving privileges within the last 36 months and no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the last 12 months, nor any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application Must consent to continuous monitoring of your Motor Vehicle Record EEO Statement Southern Company is an equal opportunity employer where an applicant’s qualifications are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other basis prohibited by law.
