Job Title

Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (LDRP)

Location

Winnemucca, NV | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across all LDRP roles within the same shift, including labor and delivery, postpartum couplet care, antepartum testing, and well nursery
• Stabilize and prepare high-acuity and sick neonates for transport in the absence of on-site neonatology support; transport times may be approximately 3 hours
• Administer and manage IV drips via infusion device, including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Antibiotics
• Read and interpret electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) strips independently, including identification of major and life-threatening rhythms; Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (Advanced FHM required to place Cytotec per NV RN scope)
• Receive the newborn during C-section procedures; OR team manages scrubbing, circulating, and recovery
• May be asked to assist as a helping hand in Med/Surg, ER, or Long-Term Care during low census periods, with return to OB unit for laboring patients

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to practice in Nevada
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required (Advanced FHM required to place Cytotec in Nevada)
• Minimum 1 year of true LDRP experience with demonstrated ability to function in L&D, postpartum, and sick-baby nursery roles
• Comfort caring for sick neonates prior to transport is essential given remote setting and extended transport times
• Candidates should be prepared for a setting without on-site neonatology and with on-call anesthesia and OB coverage; those accustomed to NICU and full OBGYN in-house teams should be aware of this environment prior to applying

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner Community Works EMR and Fetal Link EFM system
• Experience with Corometric monitors and respiratory equipment including T-piece for PPV and Vapotherm for high flow
• Flexibility with block scheduling and willingness to help fill staffing gaps as needed
