The accountant is responsible for the precise oversight of cash, ensuring that all incoming revenue and outgoing expenditures are accurately recorded and reconciled. Key duties include handling banking transactions, completing EIB's, asset accounting, reconciling bank accounts, paying and reconciling invoices, verifying cash drawers, making journal entries, completing AASIS reporting, scheduling bank transactions, and reporting unclaimed property to the state yearly.Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include principles and practices of higher education administration, federal, state, and local policies and regulations affecting higher education, budget development, fiscal management, and grant administration, conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building, strong communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, one year of experience in an accounting-related field, evidence of commitment to student success in a community college or similar setting, and other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements. Preferred qualifications include Workday experience.Salary information is $45,000.
