Job Title: Field Test Technician
Location: Waterloo, IA

Duration: 12+ Months ( Contract/Temp with the possibility of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Range: $35/hr to $38/hr

Job Description:
We are seeking a Field Test Technician to provide technical support for field testing, product validation, and troubleshooting of complex equipment. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, quality, field teams, and customers to diagnose technical issues, support new product development, and help improve product performance.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in diesel engines, electrical diagnostics, and heavy equipment or agricultural machinery . Recent graduates from Agricultural Technology or Diesel Technology programs with relevant technical knowledge are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve complex product and equipment issues using established diagnostic processes.
Perform advanced diesel engine and electrical diagnostics.
Analyze technical data from multiple sources to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
Support field teams, technicians, and customers with technical product issues.
Assist engineering and quality teams with product validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Document findings and develop technical reports, troubleshooting guides, and service bulletins.
Support testing and installation of prototype and production-intent components.
Gather and coordinate parts required for product updates and testing.
Travel to customer or field locations to diagnose issues, perform updates, and support testing activities as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Diesel Power Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Technology Management, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics.
Experience troubleshooting electrical systems.
Knowledge of diesel aftertreatment systems (DPF, SCR, DEF, emissions systems).
Comfortable learning and using proprietary diagnostic software and electronic service tools.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to travel approximately 10–20% within the United States and Canada.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, or diesel-powered machinery.
Knowledge of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) systems.
Experience supporting product testing, validation, or engineering projects.
Familiarity with root cause analysis and technical documentation.
