Position Summary The Payroll Specialist supports accurate and timely payroll processing for our employee population, working within established systems and procedures. This role is a key contributor to payroll operations and works closely with HR and Finance to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.

Key Responsibilities • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using UKG • Review and validate timecard data, flagging discrepancies for supervisor review • Calculate standard deductions, garnishments, and benefits withholdings • Assist with payroll tax filings and remittances under the direction of HR & Finance • Support W-2 preparation and year-end payroll activities • Process routine payroll changes including new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed • Maintain payroll records in accordance with retention requirements • Assist with payroll audits by pulling reports and organizing documentation • Identify and flag process discrepancies to management

Required Qualifications • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience • 5+ years of payroll processing experience • Familiarity with multi-state payrolls; CA & IL processing experience strongly desired • Experience with hourly workforce payroll required • Working knowledge of a payroll system (UKG experience a plus) • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Good communication and customer service skills
