Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)

Location - Rochester, NY

Duration - 13 Weeks

Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide care for patients with cardiac and stroke-related diagnoses in an acute care setting. Candidates must be proficient in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV insertion, and phlebotomy, as these are required competencies.

Required Certifications:

• BLS

Required Clinical Skills:

• Phlebotomy
• Peripheral IV Insertion and Management
• Telemetry Monitoring
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation
• Dysrhythmia Management
• Rapid Response Team Participation
• Peripheral Line Care and Maintenance
• Oxygen Therapy Management
• Non-Invasive Airway Management
• Isolation Precautions

Patient Population:

• Cardiac Patients
• Stroke Patients

Nursing Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments
• Administer medications and treatments
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to rhythm changes
• Initiate and maintain IV access
• Perform blood draws and specimen collection
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Provide patient and family education
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record

Support Staff Available:
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist with:

• Vital Signs
• Blood Glucose Monitoring
• EKGs
• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Equipment Experience:

• Hoyer Lifts
• Nasal Cannula Oxygen Delivery
• Oxygen Face Masks
• Portable Oxygen Tanks
• Telemetry Monitoring Equipment

Preferred Experience:

• Epic Electronic Medical Record System
