Controls Maintenance Technician - Bolingbrook, Il.Contract Assignment (approx. 6-12 months)Day Shift: 6:00/7:00am - 2:30/3:30pm Monday-Friday, and most SaturdaysPay Rate: up to $48.00 per hour based on proven work historyPosition Summary of the Controls Maintenance Technician:The Controls Maintenance Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for supporting the reliability and performance of automated manufacturing equipment. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and plays a critical role in electrical, PLC, robotics, CNC, and automation troubleshooting. This is a floor-based, hands-on position. The individual is expected to actively support breakdown recovery, perform advanced troubleshooting, and contribute to continuous improvement of automation systems.Core Responsibilities of the Controls Maintenance Technician:Controls & Automation supportTroubleshoot servo systems, motion control, and CNC controlsSupport Fanuc robot troubleshooting and basic programming adjustmentsAssist with Safety PLC validation and machine safety systemTroubleshoot and support vision systemsBreakdown Response & Uptime SupportRespond to equipment downtime events with urgencyDiagnose root causes of electrical and controls failuresSupport production during high-impact downtime situationsCollaborate with maintenance technicians to restore equipment quickly and safelyPreventative and Predictable MaintenanceExecutive preventative maintenance tasks on electrical and automation systemsSupport PM optimization effortsDocument findings and corrective actions in CMMSIdentify emerging failure trends and recommended corrective actionsSafety & ComplianceFollow OSHA, NFPA, arc flash, and LOTO proceduresEnsure safe troubleshooting practicesAssist in maintaining machine safety system integrityRequired Qualifications of the Controls Maintenance Technician:3-5+ years industrial controls or electrical troubleshooting experienceStrong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, ladder logic troubleshooting, HMIs, servo systems, motion controls, CNC machinery, and industrial electrical systemsExperience with Fanuc robots (troubleshooting required; programming preferred)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematicsWorking knowledge of automation and machining environmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityPreferred Qualifications of the Controls Maintenance Technician:Experience integrating or modifying PLC programsSafety PLC troubleshooting experienceExperience with vision systemsCNC programming exposureCMMS experienceMechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related degree/training (or equivalent experience)Work Structure:Reports directly to Maintenance ManagerFloor-based role in a manufacturing environmentMay require flexibility to support critical downtime or project needsA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.By applying for this role, you confirm that all information submitted is accurate and complete.
