ACIBuilds.comSummary/Objective: The Service and Special Projects Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for the service and installation and testing of automatic Sprinkler fire suppression systems, along with doing occasional inspections. Works with the service team to install new systems and inspect older sprinkler systems.Essential Functions:Reads and interprets drawings and specifications to determine layout requirementsInstalls clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipmentConnects piping system to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipmentTests system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipmentTrains and directs the day to day work of a HelperMaintains appropriate documentation for the work performedPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: NoRequired:2+ years of experience as a Service Sprinkler Fitter; or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceAbility to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings preferredKnowledge of NFPA StandardsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedPREFERED NICET cert, not a requirementThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:Work Environment:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heightsPhysical Demands:This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power toolsWhile performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focusTravel:May require travel (typically not overnight)Preferred:Prior military experienceHS diploma or GED equivalentNICET level 2Service Fire Protection Sprinkler FitterFinal compensation will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factorsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer
