Senior Project Manager - Construction

Job Title: Senior Project Manager Location: Milwaukee, WI area Company: The Boldt Company Anticipated Salary Range: $145,000 – $165,000 We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who thrives in the field, understands how work truly gets built, and wants to lead both projects and people. Responsibilities Lead large, multifaceted projects from concept through completion—ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance are achieved. Oversee complex self‑perform construction work while serving as a trusted partner to clients and a mentor to project teams. Actively engage on job sites, supporting teams, solving problems in real time, and helping shape how work gets delivered. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field required (an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered). Ten or more years’ experience in construction project management and related functions. Experience managing construction projects typically $10M+ or multiple projects simultaneously. Strong background in self‑perform construction and a hands‑on understanding of how work is put in place. Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, or similar core building systems. Confidence managing financials, including change orders, budgets, and contract considerations. Proven ability to lead teams across multiple sites or scopes. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholders. A field‑first mindset—prefer being where the work is happening. Ability to mentor and develop others, especially early‑career project team members. Nice to Have Experience working directly with craft labor and self‑perform crews. Background in estimating or preconstruction. Experience negotiating contracts and managing commercial risk. Experience supporting campus‑style or multi‑phase projects.
