Role Description:

The Transportation Coordinator (TC) is responsible for managing daily freight operations, brokering shipments, securing carrier capacity, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role focuses on building strong carrier and customer relationships, providing cost-effective logistics solutions, and achieving financial goals. The TC will collaborate with team members to maintain a positive culture, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to branch success.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED (College degree preferred)
• Transportation or supply chain-related experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, data entry, and 10-key
• Strong organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
• Professional phone and email communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
• Customer service skills with both internal and external customers

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• Transportation Management System (TMS) experience
• Registry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS) familiarity
• Experience in spot pricing, rate negotiations, and margin optimization

Responsibilities:

• Broker transportation shipments and secure carrier capacity
• Track and trace customer shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Provide customer support and address service-related issues promptly
• Conduct spot pricing and negotiate rates to meet profitability goals
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements (service levels, lane coverage, communication timelines)
• Book loads with RMIS-compliant carriers
• Develop and manage a network of reliable outside carriers to optimize service and profitability
• Support financial processes including detention management, invoice discrepancy resolution, and cost analysis
• Meet or exceed branch revenue and margin targets
• Promote teamwork and a positive work environment
