Overview Performing Arts Instructor (Band, Vocal Music or Orchestra) - Blue Valley Northwest High School Responsibilities Under the supervision of a licensed professional, provide support to the instructional process by assisting in the instruction, rehearsals and/or performances of instrumental music students. Prepare students as soloists or ensemble members for various performances; supervise sectional rehearsals and ensembles; and prepare groups for participation in school performances, festivals, clinics, parades, etc. Apply knowledge of instrumental music techniques and performance practices; contribute to developing musicianship in a classroom setting; understand instrumental ensembles and instrument components; read and interpret music notation; effectively work with all students; and maintain confidentiality. Qualifications / Requirements Knowledge and experience in instrumental music techniques and performance practices. Ability to develop musicianship in a classroom setting; familiarity with instrumental ensembles and different instruments and components. Ability to read and interpret music notation; ability to work effectively with all students and maintain confidentiality.
