We are seeking a data-driven Epidemiologist 1 to support the Rural Fetal and Infant Health Initiative . This role focuses on reducing fetal and infant mortality, improving birth outcomes, and analyzing public health trends across rural Tennessee communities through data analysis, reporting, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Periodic in-person meetings & assigned rural travel; TN residency required)

Technical & Analytical Skills

Statistical Analysis: Proficient in statistical software ( SAS strongly preferred)

Data Visualization & GIS: Experience with Tableau, Power BI, and/or GIS mapping tools

Data Management: Managing large datasets, data linking/integration, and REDCap

Spreadsheet & Office Tools: Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office Suite skills
Domain & Professional Expertise

Epidemiology & Public Health Data: Experience with vital statistics, hospital discharge data, and Perinatal Periods of Risk (PPOR) frameworks

Maternal & Child Health: Familiarity with maternal, fetal, infant, or rural health indicators

Communication & Collaboration: Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable dashboards, reports, and presentations for non-technical stakeholders

Education: Master's degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Statistics, Public Health, Health Informatics, or a related field.

Residency: Must be a current resident of the State of Tennessee (or establish residency prior to start date).
