About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse, Step Down, Telemetry Med/Surg Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ICU experience required; willingness to float to Medical Surgical units Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. Candidates must have intensive care experience and be willing to float to Medical Surgical if needed. Extensive cardiac experience is required. The candidate must have a current nursing license, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program; education verification will be required. Essential duties and responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. The RN administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and standards of care. Documentation must be completed according to standards of care. The RN develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participation in department or unit performance improvement activities is required. Utilizing clinical expertise to guide other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care is essential. The RN uses critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience, appropriately escalating issues to the chain of command. Holiday coverage may be required.
