Night Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU Care

Location: Portland, ME

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, Night Shift, 48 hours per week

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Night Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, primarily providing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position involves working with short-stay patients following various procedures including Cath, EP, and vascular surgeries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in pre-operative and post-operative care, particularly in monitoring and supporting patients during their recovery period.

Responsibilities

• Administering patient care in the PACU for patients recovering from surgery.
• Monitoring vital signs and assessments to ensure patient stability.
• Managing IV drips, cardiac drips, and tele monitoring equipment.
• Providing care for trauma patients and those requiring complex post-operative care.
• Collaboration with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
• Preparing patients and families for discharge.
• Floating to Bramhall PACU/IMC/ICU as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of PACU experience with recent floating experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience with tele strips, cardiac monitoring, and post-operative care.
• Prior Travel Experience is preferred.
• Experience in Phase 1 care and trauma Level 1 care.
