Role Description The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating residents’ functional abilities and developing individualized treatment plans to improve independence in daily living activities. Day-to-day tasks include providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, training residents in use of adaptive equipment, and collaborating with nursing, rehabilitation, and care teams to coordinate holistic care. The role involves documenting assessments, progress notes, and discharge plans, as well as educating residents, families, and staff on strategies to support safety, mobility, and quality of life. The Occupational Therapist will serve residents across skilled nursing and assisted living settings, supporting both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care needs. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bellingham, WA. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation for adult and older adult populations. Foundational knowledge in Medicine and clinical care principles relevant to skilled nursing and assisted living environments. Strong Communication skills for interacting with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams, including clear documentation and education. Experience or training in Pediatrics is helpful for understanding lifespan development and adapting interventions when needed. Current license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Washington. Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living settings is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, manage a varied caseload, and maintain professional, respectful interactions with all residents.
