Dental Assistant (With Radiology Certificate) HealthDrive is seeking a Dental Assistant (with Radiology Certificate) to fill a newly available position covering western Michigan. Part-Time Schedule (1 day per week) with opportunity to move to Full-Time (4 days per week) Summer of 2026 Position offers: Pay rate of $25/hr. Mileage reimbursement available. No evening, weekend, or on-call hours required. Benefits available at 4+ days per week Established patient base. Full administrative support team. HealthDrive connects patients in need of vital healthcare to doctors committed to dignity and excellence. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Prepares patients for dental procedures. Assists Dentist during dental procedures. Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials. Records treatment information in patient records. Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist. Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies. Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs. Cleans and polishes removable appliances. Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. Operates X-ray equipment, with valid Radiology Certificate Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills & Specifications: Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis. Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software. Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care. Qualifications Education and Qualifications: High School graduate or GED. Completion of formal Dental Assistant training (we can accept RDAs, CDAs, or DAs, for this role) Previous relevant experience and/or externship experience required. Must possess a current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential) to operate X-ray equipment; certificate must be verifiable at the start of each shift Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift. Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs. Ability to independently load, unload, push, pull, and maneuver a rolling cart weighing approximately 45 pounds on a daily basis. Work Environment: Facility: Nursing Home or Assisted Living Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted and Independent Care Facilities, and Continuing Care Retirement Centers. Facility Layout: Hallways, ramps, elevators, swinging doors, stairs. Equipment: Mobile chairs and mobile beds at the facilities. Travel/Schedule Requirements: Must be able to adhere to work schedule set by Dentist. This is a daily travel position based on patient care requirements for the specified service area.
