OR RN Weekend Nights Baylor Scott & White Temple Operating Room Nurse Fulltime - Weekend Night Shift 7p-7a Friday- Sunday Enhanced weekend differential and NO CALL Our team is training in each of our 13 different specialties (robotics, ortho, spine, neuro, cv, general/bariatrics, gyn, plastics, surgical oncology, urology, ENT, transplant). We provide additional training for our neuro and cardiac teams. We do a variety of open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures in multiple service lines. We do multiple laser and microscope procedures. 33 operating rooms, 3 hybrid rooms used for neurovascular and vascular procedures. 4 Davinci robots, 2 Mako robots, and 1 Ion. We have excellent teamwork and collaboration among nursing staff, surgeons, residents and anesthesia We provide incredible care to our patients and get to be part of fascinating surgeries that are life changing for some of our patients. We have a great team environment, and everyone works together to ensure our patients have agreat surgical experience. Job Summary The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional. The RN uses the BSWH nursing model to coordinate patient care. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses. The RN develops and implements an individualized care plan and evaluates the patient's response. The RN promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of patient needs. The RN helps patients transition through healthcare without preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, patient condition, and employee competencies. Essential Functions of the Role Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate assessments according to standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing care plan. Modifies plan to meet outcomes. Clinical Inquiry: Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including nursing indicators. Supports evidence-based practice changes through research and learning. Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Caring Practices: Creates an attentive, helpful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families and maintains appropriate boundaries. Manages emotional and physical pain to promote relief and healing and prevent unnecessary suffering. Response to Diversity: Recognizes and appreciates a patient's and family's unique differences. Knowledge of medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly, both verbally and in writing. Social skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies. Must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Observe changes in patients' medical conditions and communicate them to nursing staff and physicians/providers. Provide age-specific, quality, patient-centered care through the nursing process and standards. Respect the diversity of human experience. Develop, evaluate, implement, and modify patient care plans as needed. General computer skills include Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification MAJOR - Nursing EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of OR Nurse Experience CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
