Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to efficiently move, load, and organize lumber and related materials while maintaining a clean and orderly yard. You will play a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly and ensuring timely service for customers and contractors in a busy outdoor lumber yard environment.

Pay: $21/hr + overtime available

Shift: First (1st) 6:30am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to safely load, unload, and transport lumber and building materials.
• Safely stack, store, and organize lumber and related materials in designated yard areas to maximize space and maintain order.
• Assist with inventory management by tracking incoming and outgoing shipments and ensuring accurate placement of materials.
• Perform daily inspections of forklifts and other equipment, and promptly report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Support customers and delivery drivers by accurately and efficiently loading orders according to instructions and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Collaborate closely with yard staff and leadership to ensure an efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Use tools such as RF scanners and pallet jacks to move, pick, and track materials as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or construction supply environment is preferred.
• Comfort working with outdoor inventory and building materials such as lumber and related products.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and support efficient inventory flow.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in prior roles.
• Willingness to follow established safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Work Environment

This position is based in an outdoor lumber yard with regular exposure to weather conditions, dust, and noise. You will spend most of your day on your feet, operating forklifts and other equipment, lifting and moving materials, and working in and around yard storage areas. The role is physically demanding and requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners for extended periods while following strict safety standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakeville, MA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lakeville,MA.
