About the Opportunity

\n

Our client is an established industrial manufacturer. They’re looking for a Site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to own EHS at one of their operating facilities. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be the site’s main authority on environmental and safety matters and its main contact with regulatory agencies. You’ll work closely with site leadership to build a strong safety culture, protect the environment and support operational excellence.

Position Summary

\n

The Site EHS Manager leads, implements and sustains site-level EHS programs so the site complies with all federal, state and local regulations. The role reports to a Senior Regional EHS Manager.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Maintain and continuously improve site EHS management systems to ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with company standards
\n
• Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations
\n
• Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies, including OSHA, EPA, and local authorities
\n
• Manage all environmental permits, renewals, and regulatory reporting requirements
\n
• Plan for and support regulatory inspections, audits, and agency interactions; lead responses to findings and corrective actions
\n
• Conduct environmental, health, and safety audits and inspections
\n
• Collaborate with site leadership to identify environmental and safety risks, implement controls, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
\n
• Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action tracking
\n
• Provide Process Safety Management (PSM) support and support Management of Change (MOC) processes
\n
• Ensure accurate EHS recordkeeping and documentation, including OSHA logs, environmental reports, and internal metrics
\n
• Monitor, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics, including leading indicators
\n
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and evaluations
\n
• Partner with HR and Operations on workers’ compensation, return-to-work programs, and employee health initiatives
\n
• Stay current on changes to local and federal EHS regulations and proactively implement compliance strategies
\n

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
\n
• 5+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
\n
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial settings preferred
\n
• Process Safety Management (PSM) experience preferred
\n
• Demonstrated experience with state-specific environmental regulations, including permitting and compliance
\n
• Strong multi-media environmental experience (air, water, and waste)
\n
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, email, presentation, and word processing software
\n
• Experience with EHS management software is a plus
\n
• CHMM, CSP, or similar certification preferred
\n
• First Aid / CPR / AED certification preferred
\n
• Valid driver’s license required
\n

Work Environment

\n

\n
• Work in an active industrial plant, including extended periods in hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather
\n
• Work around hazardous chemicals and materials
\n
• Wear required PPE, including FR clothing, respirators, and fall protection equipment
\n
• Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching, carrying, use of hand tools, and moving heavy objects
\n
• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and high-lifts, and enter and work in confined spaces
\n
• Respond to emergency call-outs as required by site operations
\n
• Typically Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional travel to other locations
\n
