- Surface Inspection : Checking for popped nails, loose tape, and water damage.
- Patching & Repair : Filling small holes, fixing dents, and replacing damaged sections of drywall.
- Taping & Mudding : Applying joint compound and drywall tape to all joints, corners, and fastener heads.
- Sanding : Fine-sanding all repaired areas to a perfectly smooth surface.
- Finish Level Specified : Stating the required finish standard (typically Level 4 for standard paint, or Level 5 for a flawless skim coat under high-gloss paint). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Phase 2: Surface Preparation & Protection
- Site Protection : Masking and taping off floors, windows, and light fixtures with plastic sheeting and builder's paper.
- Dust Control : Sweeping, vacuuming, or using tack cloths to remove all drywall dust from surfaces before applying liquid product.
- Priming : Applying one uniform coat of high-quality drywall primer-sealer to all raw compound and paper. [1, 2, 3]
