Behavior Technician
This role is a strong starting point or advancement opportunity for those interested in building a career in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). As a Behavior Technician, you will provide direct support to children and their families by implementing individualized ABA programs focused on skill acquisition and behavior improvement. Services take place in the client's home or within community settings, depending on treatment goals. Typical sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, with flexibility based on your availability. Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $27, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may be available for bilingual Spanish-speaking applicants.
Behavior Technicians play a key role in helping children develop communication, social, and daily living skills. In this position, you will use evidence-based behavioral interventions to teach new skills and reduce behaviors that may impact safety or independence. Applicants with coursework or degrees in psychology, education, human services, or similar fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Being successful in this role requires reliability, compassion, professionalism, and a genuine desire to support meaningful progress in children's lives.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance listing them as a covered driver. A current negative TB test is required. Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving skills, creativity, and professionalism are essential for this role. The position may require lifting up to 50 pounds and collaborating closely with a clinical team. Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and transition between floor-level and standing positions throughout the workday. Actively participate in developmentally appropriate client activities, including floor-based activities, movement-based activities, transitions, and safety monitoring. Safely navigate assigned work environments, including homes, clinics, schools, community settings, and remote/telehealth settings, as applicable. Occasionally, lift, carry, push, pull, or move therapy materials and equipment, typically up to 50 pounds. Sit for extended periods while providing telehealth services or completing computer-based work as needed. Use hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, mobile devices, and other equipment requiring fine motor coordination. Maintain visual and auditory awareness to observe client behavior, monitor safety, and communicate effectively in both in-person and virtual settings. Read, understand, retain, and apply written and verbal information. Maintain attention, concentration, situational awareness, and sound judgment in dynamic environments. Collect, record, and submit accurate client data and session documentation. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. Maintain professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client or employee matters, complaints, and workplace concerns.
Sit for prolonged periods while providing services or performing computer-based work. Use hands and fingers for repetitive keyboarding, mouse use, and operation of computer equipment. Maintain visual acuity to observe individuals and read information on a computer screen. Maintain sufficient hearing and speech abilities to effectively communicate during virtual interactions. Occasionally stand, stretch, or reposition throughout the workday. Occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office equipment or supplies, typically up to 20 pounds. Read, understand, and process written and verbal information. Sustain attention and concentration during virtual interactions. Maintain situational awareness while monitoring individuals through video technology. Exercise judgment and make timely decisions based on observed information. Retain and apply information accurately. Communicate effectively using verbal and written communication. Collect, record, and submit accurate client data and session documentation. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. Maintain professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive client or employee matters, complaints, and workplace concerns.

Reach, grasp, handle, and manipulate work equipment and documents as needed. Lift, carry, or move office materials and supplies, typically up to 20 pounds. Maintain visual acuity to read computer screens, printed materials, and electronic documents. Maintain sufficient hearing and speech abilities to communicate in person, by telephone, and through virtual platforms. Read, understand, and process written and verbal information. Maintain attention, concentration, and situational awareness for extended periods. Maintain attention, accuracy, and organization while managing multiple tasks, deadlines, systems, and communications. Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks. Exercise judgment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Retain and apply information accurately. Communicate effectively using verbal and written communication. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information. Maintain professionalism and emotional resilience when addressing sensitive matters, complaints, and concerns.
Additional benefits include: Paid Time Off (PTO), sick leave, mileage reimbursement, and compensation for drive time. Free 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and ongoing development opportunities. Structured, performance-based pay increases, including raises tied to consistent availability and RBT certification.
Incentive Pay Structure
- $1/hour raise after maintaining consistent availability for 90 consecutive days
- Additional $1/hour raise upon successfully earning RBT certification
Cancellation Policy
To protect staff time and earnings, we maintain a clear cancellation policy. Paid cancellations are provided for up to 2 hours of pay if a client cancels within 30 minutes or less of the scheduled start time and/or technician has already departed for the session. We also actively monitor and address excessive client cancellations to protect technician schedules and maintain consistent hours.
