General Superintendent (Sheet Metal Division)

Role Overview A well-established mechanical contractor in NYC is seeking a General Superintendent – Sheet Metal Operations to lead and oversee the day‑to‑day operations of their sheet metal division. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing field operations, shop production, and drafting coordination, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the sheet metal division across multiple projects Oversee field crews, shop labor, and drafting teams to ensure seamless project execution Develop and manage project schedules aligned with cost and production targets Review contract drawings, specifications, and ensure compliance across all work Establish and implement project‑specific sheet metal shop standards Manage procurement of materials, tools, and equipment for all projects Track labor, production, and performance across active jobs Coordinate weekly timesheets for field and shop labor with accounting Lead hiring, training, and performance management of field and shop personnel Support estimating efforts including labor forecasting and material take‑offs Requirements Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a sheet metal supervisory or leadership role Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and installation methods Solid understanding of industry codes, standards, and best practices Proven ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate production workflows Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications Experience working alongside drafting/CAD teams Knowledge of Local 28 work rules is highly desirable OSHA 30 certification required Project Experience Commercial projects ranging from $50K–$1M Experience managing multiple concurrent projects preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary $160,000 DOE Full benefits package including medical insurance and 401K Company vehicle + gas/insurance allowance Clear progression into senior leadership within the business #J-18808-Ljbffr ProSource Group
