Sleep Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Sleep Technician to join our team for night shifts. This position involves performing sleep studies and providing education to patients regarding prescribed therapies and follow-ups. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of sleep disorders and a commitment to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct general sleep studies and neurological testing for various patient populations.
• Educate patients on prescribed therapies and assist with troubleshooting technical issues.
• Monitor and document patient information in accordance with facility guidelines.
• Understand the structure and function of testing equipment, and execute basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Apply principles of anatomy and physiology relating to sleep studies.
• Supervise staff and students in providing care and services during training.
• Participate in scoring or tabulation of studies as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Respiratory Technology, or another medical specialty preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience in the sleep disorders field.
• Knowledge of sleep disorders and electrical safety.
• Ability to effectively utilize computers for patient documentation and data management.
• Possession of BLS (AHA) and RPSGT certifications is required.

Shift and Schedule

This position requires working 12-hour shifts, typically starting at 6:00 PM. The schedule includes Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with optional shifts on weekdays. Overtime opportunities are available.

Unit Information

The Sleep Unit consists of two beds and utilizes computerized charting for standard sleep study procedures. The candidate will receive training and orientation from the Sleep Technician supervisor.

Dress Code

Scrubs are required as the standard dress code for this position.
