Technical Assembler

Job Description Technical Assembler position based in our Emporia, KS Facility. The role supports the technical and primary electrical components of Pratt Industrial’s valves, ensuring customers receive fully functional products, and assists warehouse efforts in quality control of outgoing and returned items. Responsibilities Complete actuation and basic electrical tasks on products, including wiring and work with solenoids, limit switches, and positioners. Inspect, test, and evaluate returned products and new items entering the warehouse using measuring devices such as gauges, meters, and calipers. Prepare necessary reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Eliminate products that are not up to standards and determine reasons for product problems. Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams. Use testing devices such as calipers, hydro test press, torque tester, and voltmeter to identify and report electrical problems. Maintain a fast‑paced work environment, keep the work area and department clean and organized, and adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures. Required Experience Standard technical electrician skills with safety knowledge. Experience with valves and fabrication is a plus. Physical Requirements Wear PPE including safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and/or ear plugs. Use hands to handle, feel, or manipulate objects with fingers. Frequently sit, stand, walk, and reach within hand/span and arm’s length. Stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently. Occasionally reach overhead or at or below shoulder level. Ascend or descend ladders or steps in confined spaces as needed. Lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects between 25 and 50 pounds. Remain in stationary or standing position for prolonged periods and alternate positions as necessary. Repeat gross or fine manipulation that may include the use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Perform close visual inspections of products, meeting specific vision requirements. Work in an open warehouse environment subject to seasonal weather.
