Quality Assurance (QA) Laboratory Technician
Location: Orangeville, UT
Pay: $26–$45/hour
Employment Type: Direct Hire
- Perform chemical, physical, and material-property testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished components using approved laboratory procedures.
- Ensure testing methods and inspection procedures are performed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established quality requirements.
- Receive, label, track, prepare, and manage laboratory samples while maintaining complete traceability throughout the testing process.
- Operate analytical instruments, measurement equipment, and other laboratory systems according to established procedures and laboratory best practices.
- Perform routine equipment checks, calibrations, and basic maintenance and promptly report equipment issues or abnormal conditions.
- Collect, record, organize, and store laboratory data while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Maintain complete and legible laboratory records, test reports, sample histories, and supporting quality documentation.
- Identify and document test anomalies, unexpected results, equipment issues, sample variations, and other deviations requiring further investigation.
- Support Quality and Engineering teams during investigations by providing accurate test data and laboratory documentation.
- Follow quality procedures aligned with applicable nuclear and laboratory standards, including NQA-1 and ISO 17025.
- Support internal audits, quality checks, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow strict safety requirements related to laboratory operations, hazardous material handling, radiation protection, and criticality safety.
- Maintain laboratory organization and ensure equipment, samples, and materials are properly controlled.
- Support extended commissioning and production campaigns as operational needs require.
- Identify opportunities to improve laboratory throughput and efficiency without compromising safety, quality, cost, or testing accuracy.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific or technical field.
- 1–3+ years of laboratory experience within a regulated, technical, or high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques, laboratory measurement tools, testing equipment, and laboratory best practices.
- Strong documentation, data integrity, and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately follow detailed technical procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize unusual test results or equipment conditions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Quality, Production, Engineering, and other technical teams.
