Position Specific Description

Our Technical Services Department is looking for a Principal Engineer to join their team in Jupiter FL. This position is accountable for the support and reliability of transformer fleet and associated components. A candidate with experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.

The selected candidate for this role will:
Develop transformer designs prepare bid specifications and perform factory acceptance witnessing for ordered transformers.
Evaluate new transformer vendors and provide recommendations on path forward.
Perform failure root cause investigations and develop countermeasures and plans to prevent additional failures.
Provide technical support for the development of the annual budget and work plan to repair conditions identified by the condition assessment program.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Provide recommendations on appropriate safety stocks for large power transformers.
Provide technical support for operations teams related to power transformers autotransformers and generator step up units.
Provide technical support for the Safety Program.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for applying diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Employees in this role evaluate select and apply standard techniques procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Provides engineering design and environmental support
Tracks and reports on project negotiations and performance
Delivers company standards policies training and support of organization
Prepares communications presentations and provides support at meetings
Formulates researches and develops improvement measures
Works with other departments within the organization to establish customer requirements and project costs
Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
Ability to work extended hours
Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License (NON CDL)
• Bachelors degree in Engineering (non-Engineering Technology) OR
• Masters degree in Engineering if the bachelors degree is not in a pure engineering field
• At least one degree (Bachelors or Masters) must be from an ABET-accredited program
• Experience: 7 years post-Bachelors degree in engineering

Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Masters Degree
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
Six Sigma Master Black Belt
