The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will specialize in maintaining and repairing construction machinery, working in a dynamic environment that includes both indoor and outdoor settings. This role involves a mix of team collaboration and independent tasks, with occasional travel to various job sites. The mechanic will utilize manual tools, gauges, and computerized diagnostic systems to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance on construction machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues
- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems and diesel engines
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using manual and computerized diagnostic tools
- Adhere to safety protocols and environmental guidelines during all maintenance and repair tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair
- Proficient in hydraulic systems repair and diesel engine maintenance
- Skilled in welding and electrical systems troubleshooting
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools including computerized diagnostic systems and manual gauges
