Senior Staff Accountant (Contract - Immediate Need)

Overview

An established organization is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support core financial operations during a critical period. This role will focus on general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and financial analysis within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and able to step in quickly to support ongoing accounting processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Support general ledger integrity through preparation and review of journal entries, including accruals and adjustments
• Perform account reconciliations and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with financial close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reporting
• Analyze account fluctuations and variances, providing insight into trends and drivers
• Review cash activity and support balance sheet accuracy through reconciliation processes
• Prepare documentation and schedules to support audit requests and internal reviews
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes where needed

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger exposure
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Experience with account reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit support
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems
• Ability to operate independently and adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment
• Experience with manufacturing or product-based environments is a plus
• Exposure to integrated ERP platforms (including cloud-based systems) is a plus

Pay Details: $33.65 to $37.00 per hour
