Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (0700–1530)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily clinical microbiology laboratory operations in Bullhead City, Arizona. This leadership role combines technical expertise in complex clinical microbiology with administrative oversight, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance. The supervisor ensures accurate, timely diagnostic testing while mentoring laboratory staff and maintaining high standards of quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Oversight & Operations: Direct day-to-day workflow within the Microbiology department, ensuring precise performance of bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and molecular diagnostic procedures.
• Team Leadership & Supervision: Manage, train, and evaluate medical laboratory personnel; establish efficient shift coverage and coordinate daily task assignments.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Maintain strict laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory readiness for CLIA, CAP, and state requirements.
• Equipment & Inventory Management: Oversee calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation; maintain inventory and reagent supplies.
• Diagnostic Consultation: Evaluate complex test results, resolve technical discrepancies, and serve as a technical resource for physicians and nursing staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Medical Technology (MT), or a closely related biological science from an accredited program required.
• Certifications: Active certification as an MLS / MT via ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or equivalent accredited board (e.g., NCCLS/CLSI standards).
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive clinical laboratory experience with specialized expertise in Microbiology and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of clinical microbiology testing methodologies, laboratory information systems (LIS), instrument maintenance, and quality management systems.
