Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent expertise for a 26-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Respiratory therapy unit with rotation through all hospital areas, including NICU and Pediatric units as needed based on census and staffing
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• NICU experience preferred but not required
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Free parking available on-site
• Float between main hospital and Milford campus as needed

Requirements

• Current RRT or CRT credential required, plus applicable state license (license required if applicable)
• BLS required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Draeger ventilator experience required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Additional Information

• NICU experience, including with neonatal oscillating vents and high-frequency jet vents, is preferred
• Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if needed
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional requests will not be approved after that point
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
• 1 professional reference required for consideration
