Director of Engineering | Microgrids & Distributed Energy | United States (Remote/Hybrid)
We're partnered with an industry-leading distributed energy solutions provider on a search for a Director of Engineering to own the microgrid engineering strategy and lead a high-performing team delivering cutting-edge projects across the US.
This is a senior leadership role for an experienced engineer ready to take full technical ownership — from concept through to commissioning.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading and developing an engineering team across microgrid design and delivery
- Owning the technical strategy for microgrid solutions including BESS, generation, and controls integration
- Serving as the technical authority for clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
- Driving complex distributed energy projects end-to-end
What they're looking for:
- Hands-on experience with aeroderivative gas turbines — specifically GE LM2500 and/or GE LM6000
- Strong background in battery energy storage systems (BESS) and microgrid solutions
- Power plant construction experience — not just design
- Proven engineering leadership within distributed energy or power systems
