Position Summary The Universal Banker provides outstanding customer service while performing a broad range of banking functions, including teller transactions, account servicing, account opening, and relationship building. Team members progress through increasing levels of responsibility and independent decision-making as they advance within the role. General Job Duties Customer Service & Relationship Building Deliver exceptional service in every customer interaction Assist customers with account inquiries, transactions, and product information Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently Build customer relationships through cross-selling and referrals Promote bank products and services that meet customer needs Teller & Transaction Processing Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other banking transactions Verify transaction accuracy, authorizations, and documentation Process loan, credit line, and tax payment transactions Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate records Support branch cash management and vault operations Account Services Open and maintain deposit accounts according to assigned level Ensure proper customer identification and documentation Prepare and scan account documents Assist with compliance and exception resolution Support online banking enrollment and account maintenance Branch Operations Assist with ATM and Cash Express balancing and replenishment Process wire transfers (Levels II and III) Support branch opening and closing procedures Assist other branches as needed Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA responsibilities Skills & Abilities Successful candidates will possess: Strong customer service and relationship-building skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to count currency and process negotiable instruments Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities Strong organizational and time-management skills Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and banking software systems preferred Work Environment This position is located in a professional banking office environment. The role involves frequent interaction with customers, coworkers, cash, and financial information. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
