Wheeler Hardware Company is a Minneapolis based, nationwide distributor and installer of architectural and commercial grade doors, frames and door hardware.

We are currently seeking an experienced commercial carpenter to fill a  Service Technician role as part of our service department team. This would be a full-time position with pay based on experience and education.

This position will be responsible for high quality installation and servicing of commercial frames, doors and hardware in the Twin Cities metro area. A company truck and tools are provided for all of our technicians. This position offers great opportunity for growth and advancement within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Installation of commercial frames and doors.
• Installation of commercial door hardware (e.g., locks, closers, exit devices, etc.).
• Demolition of existing openings as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues in the field and repair as needed.
• Field modify/repair frames and doors as needed.
• Fill out daily service report, per job.
• Maintain truck stock/inventory.
• Company truck and tools provided.

Qualifications:

• Commercial construction background
• Installation of commercial doors and hardware.
• Low voltage experience and/or a PLT License a benefit, but not a mandate.
• Experience with small electric hand tools (cordless drill, jig saw, reciprocating saw, grinder, etc.)
• Basic welding skills are a benefit but can be trained.
• Strong communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Highly organized with ability to multitask.
