Remote Data Scientist

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $115K-$140K (depending on experience)

Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

Job Description:
Managing new package requests and administering our data science package repository.
Gathering data from various sources, cleaning and transforming it into usable formats for analysis.
Applying statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and insights within datasets.
Analize complex datasets.
Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.
Create dynamic data reports.
Requirements Management, Schedule Estimation and Planning.
Collaboration and Coordination with members of a cross-functional team.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Required:
At least five (5) years of experience performing duties similar to at least two (2) duties found in the Data Scientist description.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.

Desired:
Experience with 3rd generation programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or C++ desired.
Experience with data science packages desired.
Knowledge of various machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks), model evaluation, and deployment desired.
Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud services (e.g., AWS).
Experience working with Application Lifecycle and Configuration and Knowledge Management software is highly desired.
Experience with GitLab is preferred.
Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting is desired.
Experience with Agile Methodology is desired.

Security Clearance:
Must have active secret clearance and be eligible for Top Secret Clearance (SSBI). Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is required.
