Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Floor. The position provides care for a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including patients with congestive heart failure, renal failure, pneumonia, diabetes, stroke, fractures, and postoperative conditions. Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, transfers, medication competency, and floating across medical-surgical units as needed.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, 36 hours per week, with no call.
• Required Qualifications: Active RN license in MD or a compact state; active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); at least 2 years of recent medical-surgical experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Provides care for medical-surgical patients, including postoperative back and brain surgery patients, stroke patients, postoperative hip, knee, and shoulder replacement patients, geriatric fracture patients, and medical overflow patients. Responsibilities include admissions, discharges, transfers, medication administration, and use of mobility and patient-care equipment. The position requires successful completion of medication competency testing with a minimum score of 80 percent and adherence to navy blue scrub requirements.
