We work collaboratively to provide compassionate care and utilize evidence based practice to improve outcomes – to every patient, every time.Nurse Educator Responsibilities:Provide specialized clinical expertise and skill, acting as a support person and role model for the nursing staff.Serves as a clinical resource to staff in the application of relevant research findings to practiceAssess clinical skills and learning needs of the nursing staff.Collaborate with leadership and nursing preceptors in evaluating and promoting development amongst the nursing staff.Participate in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of patient care relevant to clinical practiceManage education of staff, including employees' orientation to the unit, standards of care, and competencies.Design, plan, and implement a criteria-based staff development program to meet the clinical needs of all nursing care team membersAssess, plan, implement, and evaluate the overall orientation and continuing education programs for the Nursing departmentTake an active role in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and patient education programs, and other educational projects as requestedActively participate in unit departmental and interdisciplinary programs, meetings and conferences to assist with changing trends in the delivery of patient careEngage in unit specific performance improvement initiatives and assist in addressing knowledge deficits identified through unit-based monitoringParticipates in the orientation and onboarding of new staff, providing education, guidance, and support to promote safe clinical practice, competency development, and adherence to departmental and organizational standardsDemonstrates familiarity with current Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) guidelines and integrates evidence-based standards into operating room and recovery room education, clinical practice, and staff competency developmentQualifications:Passion for Nursing EducationProcedural experience preferred5+ Years of RN acute care nursing experienceLeadership or Nursing Education experience preferredEducation: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing requiredBachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree requiredMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree requiredLicensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & RegistrationCertification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationPreferred Certifications: BCLS Instructor certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification ; CNOR CertificationPosted Salary RangeUSD $130,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
