Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Martinsville, VA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ER experience and certifications including ACLS, BLS, PALS or ENPC, and CPI/Handle with Care.

Details

• Work in a 34-bed Emergency Department at an acute-care hospital licensed for 220 beds
• Serves all patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Common diagnoses and cases include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric presentations
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Weekends required every other weekend
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• EMR: Medhost

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — AHA-issued certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Random drug screening consent required; screenings are completed on site
• Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form must be completed
• Scrubs may be any color of the traveler's choosing; casual wear is not acceptable
• Martinsville, VA is home to the Martinsville Speedway, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Virginia Museum of Natural History
