Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral) approved by the APTA.
• Current California Physical Therapist license required by start of assignment.
• Recent experience in outpatient orthopedics required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Ability to perform one-on-one patient care for orthopedic, general deconditioning, balance/fall prevention, and other diagnoses depending on clinician skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Word; ability to learn Cerner and other clinical software.
• Interpersonal and analytical skills necessary to instruct and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English.
• Willingness to float to acute care/inpatient as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Inpatient/acute care experience (training/mentoring provided if needed).
• Additional specialty experience such as pelvic health, vestibular rehabilitation, outpatient neurologic rehab, pediatrics, or lymphedema.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0800-1830.
• Schedule: 4 days per week.
• One weekend per month on call with weekend coverage approximately 0700-0900 (approximately 2 hours/day for weekend shifts).
• Primarily outpatient caseload with one-on-one patient care.
• EMR system: Cerner.
• Must be willing to float to acute care/inpatient as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Responsible for evaluating patients referred for physical therapy, formulating plans of care, and providing treatments. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to departmental and hospital policies. Collaborate with medical staff and hospital departments to support patient-centered care. Report any knowledge of potential fraud or abuse in accordance with compliance guidelines.
