General Infectious Diseases MD - Internal Medicine

Division of Infectious Disease The Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a new Clinician‑Educator in the specialty of Infectious Disease. The candidate should be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine, qualified for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, and have demonstrated expertise in the management of complex infectious disease patients. The successful candidate will participate as Clinician‑Educator in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and infectious disease fellows in inpatient and outpatient settings, establish outpatient clinics for transplant infectious disease, and contribute to the Division’s scholarly and research activities. Responsibilities Teaching – Time and effort shall be devoted to teaching and teaching–related activities. This includes instruction of medical students, dental students, graduate students, allied health students, residents, fellows, and colleagues, as appropriate. Teaching responsibilities also include preparation of instructional materials, evaluation, assessment, continuing education, and advising/mentoring trainees. Research – Time and effort shall be devoted to funded research–related activities. The candidate is expected to obtain funding for research aligned with the mission of the School of Medicine and Department, and to engage in scholarly activities such as publications and presentations at national meetings. Clinical – Time and effort shall be devoted to clinical services. The candidate must maintain a practice in Infectious Diseases, covering both inpatient and outpatient care, and integrate students and residents into clinical service. Required Qualifications Board eligible/Board certified M.D. (or equivalent M.B.B.S. or D.O.) with experience in infectious diseases or a closely related discipline. Minimum one year of clinical experience with infectious diseases. Record of publication and conference dissemination demonstrating expertise in the faculty’s area of research. Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Research experience with infectious diseases. Compensation and Employment Salary: Commensurate. FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt. ORP Eligible: No. Rank: Open.
