Certified Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 3-month remote contract assignment supporting an outpatient Pharmacy Benefit program.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience , along with 2 years of Prior Authorization experience and an active California Pharmacy Technician license .

REQUIRED SKILLS

Primary (Must-Have):

• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Minimum 2 years of Prior Authorization experience
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy benefit processes
• Excellent communication and coordination skills

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate, assist with, and support the implementation of procedures and guidelines for the drug prior authorization program for the outpatient Pharmacy Benefit.
• Evaluate prior authorization requests based on medication policies and operational principles.
• Provide drug usage history and other pertinent pharmacy benefit information to internal business partners to support case-specific reviews and drug evaluations.
• Communicate with physicians, physician office staff, pharmacies, and internal business partners to facilitate accurate and efficient resolution of pharmacy benefit inquiries.
• Clearly communicate formulary alternatives and prior authorization criteria.
• Discuss pharmacy benefit coverage and requirements when needed.
• Support accurate and timely resolution of pharmacy benefit-related cases.

• Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
