We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanic to join a growing team in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity working a Monday through Friday day shift. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment, ensuring all vehicles and systems operate safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials
- Inspect, repair, and maintain brake systems, suspension, steering, and driveline components
- Perform preventative maintenance on Class A tractors and trailers
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and air systems
- Complete oil changes, filter replacements, fluid services, and lubrication
Requirements:
- Previous diesel mechanic or auto mechanic experience required
- Willingness to learn and expand technical skills
- Ability to perform hands-on mechanical and diagnostic work
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Must be able to work full-time, Monday–Friday day shift
