Location: Madison Heights, MI Shift: 1st – 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pay: $18.96 – $24.78

Job Summary

Are you a meticulous and reliable professional who takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment? We are hiring a Custodian to support Trystar's production and office facilities in Madison Heights, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for general cleaning, sanitation, and upkeep of all areas, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness for all employees.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Custodian, your core responsibilities will include:

• Restroom Sanitation: Ensure bathrooms are clean, including emptying trash bins, disinfecting toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Restock all supplies (soap, toilet paper, paper towels).
• Common Area Cleaning: Wipe down break room tables, chairs, countertops, and appliances. Restock napkins, utensils, coffee, and other food supplies.
• Office Area Maintenance: Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures, and office equipment. Clean conference rooms, reception areas, shared workspaces, windows, glass doors, and partitions. Disinfect high-touch points like doorknobs and light switches.
• Facility Upkeep: Sweep, mop, and vacuum main areas, hallways, entryways, computer areas, and locker rooms. Ensure all common areas are tidy and disinfected.
• Trash Management: Empty garbage and recycling bins in office, break room, and bathrooms.
• Manufacturing Floor Cleaning: Sweep and scrub production floors, aisles, and walkways. Maintain cleanliness of emergency exits and safe walkways. Use appropriate methods for cleaning oils and other residue.
• Safety & Reporting: Spot clean any reported spills or messes. Notify the manager of any broken fixtures, leaks, or supply shortages.
• Preparation: Restock supplies for the next shift.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you should have the following:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience cleaning and/or working in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
• Must adhere to all the PPE requirements (Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection).
• Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Skills:

• Attention to Detail: Accuracy and timeliness in completion of work assignments is a must.
• Physical Stamina: Frequent lifting, standing, bending, and reaching required.
• Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment while collaborating, troubleshooting, and problem-solving with coworkers.
• Safety Focus: Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, especially around oils and manufacturing equipment.
