Background in working with children (coaching, tutoring, teaching) and/or coding desired. Great for students, freelance programmers, educators, or parents who would like to teach at their child's school. At Coding with Kids we teach computer programming to students in grades K‑12. We offer after‑school enrichment classes, evening classes in education centers, camps and Kid's Code‑a‑thons. Our multi‑year curriculum takes students from the beginnings of computer science to the mastery of software development. K-12 Summer Camp Coding Instructor Are you looking for a part‑time summer job where you get to teach kids to code at a summer camp ? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children by teaching them this important 21st Century skill? If yes, read on! Summer camps are scheduled by week throughout the summer and include either a half‑day or a full‑day teaching option. In‑person camps are located in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, Denver, CO, and Austin, TX . Additionally, you can choose to teach virtually from our list of online camps based on what works best for you. Who You Are: You have coding experience (this could be anything from coding in Scratch to programming in Python or Java; our team is full of instructors with diverse backgrounds!) You have experience working with children or youth in a classroom or a group setting You love working with kids and are excited to teach them new skills! What We Provide: A well‑structured and tested curriculum that is detailed for those who want to follow it directly, yet flexible for those who want to tweak and adjust Training: Live and self‑guided training to prepare you to teach and work with children A great group of fellow instructors passionate about teaching kids and helping each other Ongoing coaching and support Both in‑person and online teaching opportunities The camps run from the beginning of June to the end of August, which varies depending on the region. Each camp is 5 days long. We request that when you commit to teaching the camp, you commit to working for a minimum of 6 weeks of camp throughout the summer. Our online classes run all year long and you could start teaching these classes before the camps start. Customer Service: Lead a team of operations coordinators and customer support agents in ensuring a customer‑focused lens and bias towards eliminating friction points and elevating service. Class Schedule Creation & Management: Develop and maintain an optimized schedule for our 700+ online & in‑person classes, ensure availability of continuous classes for registration, and closely monitor class capacity for a strong student‑to‑instructor ratio. Instructor Scheduling: Creation of a strategic scheduling plan for our 200+ online and in‑person instructors based on key performance indicators, availability, and teaching specialty.
