Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 42-bed ICU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, or up to 1:3 when patients are not on vents or drips
• Manage and titrate a broad range of critical care drips including vasopressors, inotropes, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, sedatives, paralytics, analgesics, and anticoagulants
• Care for complex patient populations including cardiac, respiratory, sepsis, DKA, CHF, and Level 3 trauma cases
• Collaborate with an on-site intensivist team available 24/7, respiratory therapy, and patient care assistants to deliver comprehensive critical care
• Float to other units as needed, maintaining a reduced patient load of up to 4 patients when floating
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including weekend shifts and major holidays as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR, recent and demonstrated
• Recent experience in a Trauma Level I or II hospital setting
• Demonstrated experience with mechanical ventilation, sedation management, sepsis protocols, vasopressors, DKA, cardiac care, CHF, and respiratory management
• Must reside or be willing to comply with a 100-mile radius requirement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a wide variety of titratable critical care drips across multiple drug classes
• Familiarity with cardiac procedures and diagnoses such as open heart surgery, balloon pump, Impella, tPA administration, and therapeutic plasma exchange
• Comfort working in a fast-paced ICU environment with high-acuity and diverse patient diagnoses
