Phlebotomist

Job Description Pride Health is hiring Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Chicago, IL. This is a 3-month assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization! Bilingual/Spanish and Extensive Pediatric Experience 2+ Yrs Minimum Responsibilities: Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc. Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required. Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles. Fully understand all the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attending annual department training courses. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries. Required Qualification: Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states. Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED 2-4 years of experience. Additional Information: Location: Chicago, IL Job Type: 3-month contract Schedule: 1st shift. Mon, Wed, Thu 1130a-8p Tues 930a-630p Fri 830a-5p, Sat 8a-2p Two Saturdays Pay Range: $22 - $24/hr Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials. Interested?
