Civil Engineer

Duration : 12 months (with potential to extend) Hours : 40+ Work Location : Chesapeake, VA (on-site) Job Summary : The Civil Engineer III will take the lead engineering role with multiple projects in flight. Will lead engineering design reviews, agency permitting efforts from cradle to grave, RFI and submittal reviews, and provide engineering oversight for construction activities Required Education and Certifications / Licenses : Minimum HS Diploma Required Top “must have” / Required skillsets (technical/functional) : 5+ years of relevant engineering experience Able to handle the most complex work and all aspects of the job using wide knowledge of the field and master (advanced knowledge, skill and /or abilities that provides subject matter authority and superior command in a particular job) of the subject matter May provide input in setting objectives and policy, identifying critical issues and introducing new concepts Makes decisions independently Provide assistance, advice, and solutions to peers, customers, and co-workers Identifies and implements better work alternatives and business processes Top “nice to have” skillsets : Civil engineering degree and PE are preferred but not required Organization and initiative/self discipline/ exceptional problem solving skills Strong personal computer skills in proficiency with Microsoft Products Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems Soft skill requirements (team fit and personality requirements) : Ability to work with others Ideal background / Companies / Industry Experience : Experience with design reviews, local, state, and federal permitting is a strong preference Engineering field experience is preferred but not required #J-18808-Ljbffr BCP Engineers & Consultants
