Title: Instructional Designer - Adult Education andLiteracy Department: Educational Outreach Campus Location: Trinity River Campus Employee Classification: APT - Administrative Position Type: FT - Regular Grant Funded: Yes Pay Frequency: Monthly Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $62,600 Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Varies based onschedule Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remotework Job Summary: This role is responsible for coordinating instructional design,course development, faculty training, and instructional programsupport for Tarrant County College’s Adult Education and Literacy(AEL) program. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinates instructional design and course development projectsfrom inception to completion, including development ofinstructional strategies, course materials, assessments, andsyllabi for AEL class types Provides instructional design, course development, and trainingsupport to AEL faculty and instructional staff Ensures instructional materials and curriculum align with TexasWorkforce Commission (TWC) AEL Content Standards and applicableprogram requirements Designs, develops, facilitates, and maintains training curriculumfor TCC AEL instructors Researches, recommends, and integrates learning technologies andplatforms into curriculum and instructional practices, such asCanvas, Burlington English, Essential Education, and Aztec Conducts regular classroom observation and provides constructivefeedback to instructors Analyzes performance data from TEAMS for instructional andprogram improvement Collaborates with AEL Program leadership to evaluate andrecommend instructional materials and support instructional programneeds Maintains regular communication with career pathway programs,instructional staff, and external partners to support alignment ofAEL instruction with program and workforce needs Provides the TCC AEL Program Manager with regular updates oninstructional design, course development, and related programprojects Service Excellence Participates on behalf of the College in external communityorganizations and associations as assigned to support the essentialperformance requirements Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC) Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege Supervision Works under the general supervision of the Director, EducationalOutreach and AEL Program Manager *Performs Other Related Tasks as Required The duties listed are intended only as illustrations of thevarious types of work that may be performed. Required Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree Two (2) years' working experience related to the EssentialPerformance Requirements, which must include secondary orpost-secondary teaching experience Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years’ working experience of online secondary orpost-secondary teaching At least one (1) year’s working experience with proprietarylearning technology solutions (Burlington English, EssentialEducation, Aztec and ConnectAble) At least one (1) year’s working experience with learningmanagement systems (Canvas) At least one (1) year’s working experience with Texas EducatingAdults Management System (TEAMS) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques, processes andstandards for planning and implementing instructional design anddevelopment, instructional technology and non-technology media andmaterials development and implementation principles Knowledge of Learning Theory, instructional strategies,curriculum standards, and assessments, including Texas AEL ContentStandards Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and buildingeffective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication skills Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems,including the Microsoft Office suite and the Microsoft 365platform Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of ateam in collaborative environments, engaging with faculty, staff,and external stakeholders Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations basedon policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlesslyensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strongattention to detail and organization Physical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here arerepresentative of those an employee encounters while performing theessential functions of this job. While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Thenoise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
