Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 12 months Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Patient ratio experience: 4 - Previous experience in a general emergency department - combined adult/pediatric Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our emergency department. The unit consists of 15 beds with a focus on critical care. This position requires working three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in a similar setting. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and PALS, with TNCC preferred. Skills necessary for this role include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, specifically in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias. Candidates should have experience with IV therapy, including blood product administration, central line care, and starting IVs. Medication management responsibilities include continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration. Experience with neurological and psychiatric patients, particularly with cerebrovascular accidents, is beneficial. Understanding and implementing isolation precautions and triage procedures is essential. Candidates must be able to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Floating is required for all travelers in this position. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily patient census is approximately 60. Our emergency department is equipped with interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services and social services. Strong communication and collaboration skills are vital for success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced environment.
